Ok my menu now reads 'do form "search" name "marketing"

and when I click on another menu item

if vartype(marketing)="O"
marketing.release
endif

the form is not released and still shows in the windows list of open forms.

A debug will show that there is no form object in memory.

What am I doing wrong. If I run the app bypassing all the logic except the menu processing it works fine.
