>The primary target audience is existing VFP developers. You can scroll through and read postings I've made over the past few months which discuss this issue in a bit more detail. There won't be more spent on VFP marketing and resources which exceed the revenue generated from VFP since it is a very mature product. The marketing of VFP 8.0 will be very similar to that of VFP 7.0.

I'd like you to examine the following 'analysis'.

between 1995 and 2000 VFP's unique capabilities were 'buried' by MS because they did not want it to compete against products like SQL Server.

For example, a mail order company I do work for in Toronto has two hundred employees simultaneously connected to a VFP database. All employees can modify and/or report off of this 'enterprise' database. The customer order table contains about one million records. The 'potential customer' table contains approximately ten million records.

Total Revenue generated FOR MS : $500.

That's right... one single copy of VFP 5.0a (Professional Edition).

Approximately 20 'super users' have a copy of 'X-Ray' so they can run the command window directly. Otherwise all users have 'exe' files built by my single copy on their machines.

If MS had its way ... this database solution never would've existed.

Thus, VFP would never be 'marketed' to the outside world for one BIG reason :
It does not fit into their revenue generating 'philosophy'.
