>I call it "searching like a computer" - start at the top, examine each item, go on until there are no more items, or stop when you've found the one you want. Sure works for me!

mmmm.... My biggest problem finding something is trying to figure out where my wife would store it. The problem is that she doesn't put things in the same place twice, nor does she use a logical (in my mind) analysis in determining where it would go. Hence the cable remote, which only works on the TV in the Cathedereal Living room, is just as likely to be found on vanity top in the Master bedroom as on the coffe table in the CLR. Her purse is organized the same way. It is the closest thing to a Black Hole on this planet. ;-)

I, on the other hand, live by the motto: "A place for everthing and everything in it's place!" My wife depends on this, for she is always asking to borrow those items for which 'the place' is my pants pocket.

It's not a boy-brain vs girl-brain thing. My daughter-in-law, who is a pharmicist, thinks the way I do. Hre husband, my son, thinks the way my wife does. The odd thing is.... my son is a much better programmer than I am... he has the patients and can remain focused on things which I would loose interest in because they become boreing.
