The Help (VFP7 SP1) says that type SDF creates an output file with records of fixed length and with a CR/LF at the end of each. This seems to be what you are seeing.

>We've used the command COPY TO .... TYPE SDF many times. This is the first time I've encountered this. As usual, I'm simply selecting the cursor and doing the COPY TO command to copy it to a text file. However, when I pull the text file up via the MODI FILE command (with word wrap off), there is a blank line after each record. One other curious item, when I have the SHOW LINE/COLUMN POSITION on, it will show the line number of the blank line as the same line number as the preceeding data line. The last column in the real dataline is 1700. If you try to go one more space to the right, you go to column 1 on the next line, but it still shows as the same line number. Has anyone encountered this? I don't see that we have any carriage returns inside the data. I don't know what else could cause this.
