I have a laptop with NT Server 4.0 SP 3 + GSNW configured. At work, this laptop is in a
docking station and uses a 3com ISA NIC configured with Netbeui, IPX & TCP/IP. I primarily
connect to a Netware (3.12) bindery server for filespace, occaisionally browsing into or
mapping drives to an NT or 95 machine also. In this setting, when I boot up the laptop, I
am automatically prompted to login to Netware, and the GNWS also is kind enough to run my
netware login scripts too. :-)

When I am at home with this laptop dialing into a RAS server I set up, I cannot get
connected to Netware at all. A look at Dial Up Monitor->Details->Network Registration
reveals that I have successfully been assigned a Netbeui name, an IPX Net number/node
id, and an ip address. IP and Netbeui work fine. However, I am not prompted for a Netware
login by GNWS, nor can I "browse into" the list of netware servers that should be available
to me. Attempts to do so cause explorer.exe to hang.

I know my probem is not the RAS server becuase I can use any Win95 machine to dial in to
it and everything works like I want it to (auto prompted for netware login and login
scripts are run upon authentication). I really need to be using NT Server since I
am developing software for it. Can anyone explain to me how I can get NT Server
to cooperate?

PS: I have been able to get NT Workstation + Novell Client32 4.11a to work, but it seems
somewhat buggy. Unfortunately Client32 is compatible only with NT Workstation. I really
need NT Server for what I am working on. Many thanks in advance for your help!

Please reply to this newsgroup + my email address. Many thanks!
