Mike;

Just to add “injury to insult” do not forget that the term “trailblazer” comes into full effect after the arrows are neatly or otherwise shot into the back of the deserving recipient. Then the arrow fletching (feathers) are ignited to illuminate the scene. That is how the last screams are created from “trailblazers” while all others watch in amazement.

Gee what was that? It is so beautiful! There was this wonderful glow with an agonizing scream. Some how they do not seem consistent but are most entertaining.

The nicest thing about being a trailblazer is that you “get the picture” first. After your new discovery you realize things are not as they should be so you move on. There is a never-ending quest to find anything new every time a promise is made. In our case it is often the software genie with its promise of the software to end all software. The promise will not be realized with the current version. It may take several service packs or even a new release of product to give 80% of what was promised.

After the trailblazers move on we are left to create civilization out of the wilderness. Some of our creations become notable and very civilized while others are relegated to the DOS bin.

I think I see a trailblazer now! He/she is wearing that famous skunk skin cap so popular with such individuals. One of the reasons trailblazers travel alone is that no one can stand the smell of that darn skunk!
