Derek, the commands you mention were used in FoxPro 2.x, but are not needed in VFP. Do any of the books you bought have sample code or tutorials? If so, load them up and look carefully at the code. If they don't then check the TASTRADE samples that come with VFP.

And if you ARE using FoxPro 2.x, leave another message letting us know which version - we'll help there too.
