This is not true, the DE has nothign to do with upsizing. I cna put views in the DE and later change them to remote views without and difficulty. I can put tables in a DE and later use remote views without any problem. There are some reasons to avoid the DE but upsizing is not one of them and the ones I am aware of really do not apply to new comers to VFPs the issues won't be encountered for quite a while.
