>My intention was to point out that it is a problem of the first world that people are unhappy because they have time and freedom to worry about smaller and smaller things in their own lives.
And I am aware of this fact. I have been for quite some time, thank you. People coudln't care less if their fourth amendment rights where taken away as long as they have low quality television shows to watch at night.
Thats been demonstrated.
>Politics waxes and wanes.
Right, but how do you suggest that the highs come with the lows? Is it automatic? Is there some sort of wave machine in Washington DC changing everybodies moods? Or does it take people like Ralph Nader and Michael Moore to complain, and organize, and get active?
Politics waxes and wanes ONLY because people do something about. By spewing "Don't be concerned, don't get active; it will fix itself" you are essentially guaranteeing that it won't fix itself!
