HI All,

I have an Access 97 applicaiton running on Windows NT/Windows 98 which accesses tables in SQL Server 7.0 sp3 through ODBC. There's no problem using the application. However, when we leave the application alone at a screen which refers to a linked table, we get the following message:

ODBC Call Failed (3146)

I thought this was a connection timeout, so i tried playing with the connection pools. That didn't work.

According to some, Error 3146 is pretty generic. It means that there's an ODBC error but doesn't specify what the real error is. Some sites suggest that I should trap the error and print out the description. However, I can't trap the error because it happens when I do nothing. As far as I know, you can't trap an error when doing nothing.

Does anyone know why this error would be coming up?

Thanks in advance...
