Title:
XP w/ network folders
Here is the problem I'm having. I'm using WinXp Pro w/ 100Mbps network connection to a Unix server running SCO Advanced File & Print Server. The problem happens when I go into "My Computer".
First I mapped a network drive with "NET USE" command. Then I go into my computer and double click on the network drive letter. Say I have a folder named "MyFolder", when I double click on "MyFolder" it takes almost 30 seconds before showing the content of that folder. It will do this all the way up the directory tree. The funny thing is is that if I type the path I want to see in the "Address" combo box (ex. H:\foxpro\programs) and hit enter it shows me the files almost instantly. Same for going in through DOS prompt. The ONLY time it takes a long time to get into a directory is when I double click on the folder with the mouse. I have Win95, 98, and NT4 machines connecting just fine and can browse though folders without delay. Seems to be just happening on my XP machine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
