Mike;

In case you are not familiar with “sedition acts”, try a search with google.com – etc. It is an interesting topic and points out that within our history as a nation we have had occasions when laws were passed to allow people to be placed in prison for a number of reasons. These reasons negated all constitutional rights as they saw fit. With the passage of time the laws were repelled. However in some cases people spent years in jail for saying something such as “should the First World War be financed by bonds or taxes”? If you said the wrong thing you went to jail if prosecuted and many did.

Our freedoms have diminished with the passage of time since they were first created. We talk about freedoms and rights and many times do not understand them. Our rights are sometimes given up for “the interest of the nation”. At least that is what the politicians would have us believe.

Now we must remember that "baby Bush" was not elected to the office of President - he was appointed. We have the right to vote but we do not have the right to have our vote counted. That right may be lost to your voting place and its ability to maintain voting equipment.

Tom
