I agree with you here. While his message might not have been one people want to hear it may have been one they need to here. Getting "objective" advice means hearing two sides of an argument. Silencing a voice that does not think that Fox is long for the world is a bad thing to those that seek different opinions.

I don't know what damages he has suffered if any. I guess some complainers may have caused him to react.
