Hi Rod,

>Anyone seen JVP up here on the forum lately ???
>
>Don't you wonder where he went ???
>
>Rodman

Oh boy, another fight! <g>

If I may..

1) Nope, I don't care (in that sense) where JVP has wandered off to. He's an adult and I suppose he can fend for himself.

2) Why should I care? Are you pimping for his narcissism today? <g> (sorry Rodman, couldn't resist)

3) Isn't it interesting that even the mention of JVP starts a whole mini-war? Could this perhaps be why Michel thought that he needed to step in?

4) Yes, I read the information on the link. From all appearances it looked like John was trying to convince Michel's lawyers of his VFP-related stance. Are they FoxPro developers or has John confused his thought patterns with the law perhaps? Why should any lawyer worth his salt even care about VFP and why is john spending so much of his letter trying to (apparently) convince them (Michel's lawyers) of his (JVP's) VFP expertise? This one particularly puzzles me.

5) Was John perhaps trying to talk to everyone here through his letter and play the victim sonata again? *sniff*

6) This is not a "free speech" forum. It is, in fact, a private business and as such Michel has every right to operate his business as he sees fit. And take the consequences. I respect Michel's right to do this.

7) Is everyone here genetically related to the "John Hatfield Petersen" clan or the "Steven McCoy Black" clan? <g> How is the VFP-related cause enhanced by this infighting. Hasn't anyone but me figured out that John is trying to make his predictions come true through all those here who take sides? I suggest we all see beyond our personal positions and focus on things VFP.

8) The gratuitous name calling and personal denegration that was evident between both John and Steve is IMO an indication on both party's parts of (IMO) gross emotional immaturity. Where's the professionalism boys? Disagree and do so vigorously anc civilly and we all learn. Disagree with the name calling and personal animus and we all weep. Both of you know better. Shame on you.

9) Can anyone here define for me the phrase, "Divide and Conquer"?

10) Hey everyone, if you want a good debate do as I have done, respect the wishes of the others and take it to Chatter! As I said, do like I do, take the non-VFP stuff to Chatter. I definitely enjoy the intellectual stimulation from discussing matters non-Fox but there has been a place provided for us.

11) Hey, there's a new version of VFP just about to enter beta. I have to tell you that I am genuinely excited about it. Can't wait!!

12) There are far more important things in life than these issues. Don't we all look a little silly here? <s>

13) Go outside. Take a deep breath of air. Smell the flowers. Think of all the blessings in your life. Be grateful and thankful. I, for one, am thrilled that al of you choose to lend your expertise to others here. I personally want to thank all of you for taking the time to do so. Ed Rauh, David Frankenbach, George Tasker and all the others who are striving mightily to keep this place afloat technically by doing the actual work - THANK YOU!

14) Please forgive me for my tendency to stray into non-technical issues. As I mentioned, I do enjoy the mental stimulation and often forget that what intrigues me only irritates others. I am entirely guily here and have no defense whatsoever. I am not ashamed to publicly apologize to the entire community for anything I may have done to add to the animus and partisanship over the years. I am a man with many faults.

15) The benefit of the community should IMO be more important than the benefit of the individual.

Best,
