A few things come to mind:

- MS may not be marketing VFP to new users, but that doesn't mean there won't be new users. People will get jobs where VFP is used and have to learn it.
- It will make new projects easier for current users
- It's been requested for many years

>Hi guys

>I've recently stopped by Advisor.com to take a look at an article (http://foxproadvisor.com/Articles.nsf/aid/GRANT112) that FoxAdivsor Magazine's technical editor, Tamar E. Granor wrote in wich she mentioned some of the new features Toledo (VFP 8.0) shall include. The following section of this article really confuses me, after all the stuff I've been reading in threads like "The Decline of VFP" and alike.

>"Another focus for Toledo is to make it easier for NEW developers to get started. One set of changes relates to defining databases. There's a new data type that provides auto-incrementing keys..."
>
>Isn't Microsoft's marketing strategy for VFP focused on current VFP developers (words of Ken Levy himself). If this is true why bother in adding features to make it easier for "NEW" VFP developers to get started using the product.
