Hi Jim

The first installed NT4.0 Server becomes Primary Domain Controller (PDC) and if you have more than one server, you can register new NT4.0 as a member server or if you will use as a backup server as that option.
If this is the first NT server in the firm, you have to set up it as PDC.
I have not tried to install SQLServer on a backup server, but you surely can install it either on a PDC or on a member server.
