Folks

Place a LINE on a new form and set BorderStyle to Dash, Dot, Dash-Dot etc (and BorderWidth to 1) and the spaces between the dashes and dots show thru to the BackColor of the form (grey). So far so good.

Place a LINE in a container with a different colour background (white) and set BorderStyle as before and the spaces between the dashes and dots don't show thru to the BackColor of the container. I don't see white, I see the grey of the form below the container.

Fiddling with Drawmode produces some interesting effects, but not the desired one.

Q1. LINE must be taking something from its ColorSource to do the dash gaps - but what?

(Q2. Why do containers have a BackColor _and_ a ForeColor?)

Q3. Any improvements likely in VFP8 to homogenize the treatment of BackColor and ForeColor across the native controls (e.g. CommandButton has no access to BackColor)?

Any articles deal with this?
