Hilmar,
You are completely right. Since there is no such a command in FoxPro, I had to do that manually.
By the way, I found the 2 formulas in the help file of Excel under VAR() and VARP(). Standard deviation is just the square root of VAR, and STDEVP() is the square root of VARP().
