Hi Hector....

I have chosen VB.NET here to go with, because it is SIMPLE to learn and so many apps have been written in VB to begin with. When conversion time comes, I think most Managers would choose to go with the next version of VB (but hey... I could be wrong!!??!!).

C# does not appear that much harder to learn either. Just some goofy syntax, but the same general programming idea....

What I've done is purchase the VB.NET Deluxe Learning Edition (with VB.NET Standard) Step by Step, Web Database Devlopment Step by Step, and OOP with MS VB.NET and MS C#.NET Step by Step. All these books are from MS Press, and have been interesting! So far, pretty simple and very powerfull!!

(For those who haven't tried it yet, programming in the .NET environment is a hoot!!)

(By the way, I'm still unemployed since July 15th (layoff here), so I'm getting lots of time to learn all this stuff!!! Maybe I was laid off for a reason!!??!!!
