Quite obvious, indeed. To re-design ANY major system in another programming language is a major untertaking. For want of real knowledge, I will not give my opinion on dot-net. However, changing to any language you consider superior should only be done for new projects, if a major re-write was planned anyway for other reasons (major change in interface, perhaps), or because it is
really necessary for some reason.
