Sorry fellows, discovered what was happening.

Actually the table is created BUT not in the directory of the DataSource, it is created in the directory where the code is running.

If I use the following sequence, it creates where it was intended to:

 cObjtSQLcommand = "Create Table C:\MyDirectory\MyTable (Name C (40))"
