Yes, there was resistance initially, but not as bad as trying to get users to think of fiscal years as numerics rather than characters, or to having date type fields in the first place instead of just month and year...I mostly try to default to reasonable dates for them, and you could do a lot with interactive change for that.
I like users and try to listen hard to them, but I have to admit this one exasperates me. <g>

In some applications that I have developed, is data is randomly entered for a period of 2 years. i.e 97 sometimes and 98 sometimes. There are other work arounds, but one has to get used to typing them in some order. Was there any resistance to entering 4 digit year from the users, initially ?
