The applications I write in English VFP version 7 have no trouble with Chinese characters when running under Chinese Windows 95-98 or under English Windows 95-98 supplemented with Chinese Star or Twinbridge. Now I'd like the applications to run under English Windows XP without Chinese Star or Twinbridge. I have installed the East Asian languages component of Windows XP, and Chinese can be entered and displayed properly in Word. However, in my VFP7 application, Chinese does not display properly from files that already exist, and displays question marks when data as entered anew using the keyboard. I have tried changing the code page of the data file to 950 (traditional Chinese) but that didn't help.

Any ideas?
