You can use STR function or BINTOC function, if your ID is integer field.

But I would suggest you to use parameterized updatable view for your details instead. View could be indexed. See, if you like this idea and need more explanations (BTW, you can find info in Jim's book "Effective Techniques for Application Development with Visual FoxPro".)
