Have you ever been up to the Canadian Rockies? I lived in Alberta for almost eleven years before coming back to Toronto, and we'd go out to Banff or Jasper about every weekend. I liked neither town very much, but the surrounding areas were stunning. To drive through the park system from Jasper down to Banff is to have your eyes burned out of your head by the sheer magnificence of it all. Toronto doesn't begin to compare. I'm sure Evan knows what I'm talking about.

>I've travelled all over the U.S. and lived in many states also. While every state is nice and has features that other states don't have, IMHO the most beautiful locations are Colorado (western portion-Rockies and also the San Juans are terrific around Silverton, Telluride, and Ouray), Oregon (western portion), Washington (western portion), and of course, North Carolina (western portion for the mountains and eastern for the ocean. :o) If you can, see at least some of those. Some of my other favorite spots are Vermont, Virginia, Idaho, Utah, Nevada (if you like the desert and history), Arizona (desert again, but also beautiful mountains). Notice I did not mention Wisconsin although that is the state I am from--while it is beautiful also, it is mostly a farmer's and fisherman's paradise :o) (Too many early morning chore memories!)
