Well, Technically speaking .Net has incredible potential and its tools excels over VFP in the area of web enabled Apps and creating web services. It pains me to state this when I am a die hard developver of FP for about 10 years now. To force our hand, web services can be COM but they will run slower than if they were .Net Assemblies and they will be harder to deploy and maintain as opposed to just dropping the code with .Net Assemblies. VB exe (or any .Net development tool ) that can be run over the internet says a lot. The success of this very technically potent technology will be determined like I said by economics and to a much lesser part the learning curve for the developers in the near future. Economics limited the success of marvelous ideas at the time such as, remember CITRIX? . It'll be interesting to see landscape in 2 years or so.
