If I remember correctly, IMPORT FROM doesn't respect the header row (with fieldnames), created by the equivalent EXPORT TO.

The best way seems to me to give the "Save As" command in Excel. Of course, this can be automated.

This is, supposing that the data is in form of a table. If the data is in some other, more complicated, format, you have to write a program to get one cell at a time - through Automation.
