I am in complete agreement with Jim on this one. We have quite a few customers that have 2-3 users only and run a peer-to-peer network out of sheer obstinacy. Yet, they ALWAYS have problems.

Even at some of the locations where there is a dedicated server, you would not believe the number of times we have been called to resolve problems and the office with the problem had a temporary employee that they assigned to 'sit at the server' since it was only for a few days. They always promise never to do it again! (right) Invariably that 'temp worker' would reboot the server or install some wonderful screen saver, etc! Bad news!

The reason, the last person to touch is responsible for it getting broken even if wht they did has nothing to do with what broke. A peer to peeer configuration nis a disaster waiting to happen for any database application.
