You are quite right iro whether VFP or the OS are doing something with the memory. Its true that I dont know which is responsible but defintely memory is freed up when VFP gets minimized.
iro Alt+Tab. This does not have the same effect. If you call up task manager in XP, NT, W2K, and have it alwasy on top. Then load any VFP app and run it for a while so that VFP uses up some memory. You will see this happening in taskman. Then simply minimize the app - taskman shows a big drop in VFP memory usage and then, even while minimized, the memory will begin to increase as the app continues its normal behaviour. Maximize or restore and then again minimize and the memory drops again.
