When running a report with ASCII as output, the report font is changed to 10CPI from whatever font the report was formatted with. As a result, fields may not write correctly to the ASCII file. For instance, numeric values may print as ********.** if the size of the field in the report is not sufficient to display the full value with the 10CPI font. Likewise, spaces are also set to 10CPI.
If the report is only to be printed as an ASCII text file, try the following. Set up a printer profile in Windows to use Generic/Text print driver and set the port to file. Next, Change the report page set up printer to this new profile and the fonts available will be ASCII compatible. Reset the report objects' font to one of those available ones and try printing the report again.
I hope this helps.
