I installed it without a problem. Before I did the install, I went to the Windows update page. It told me I had about 20 updates available. After installing XP, there were two listed. I really can't tell any difference in normal operations.

>I went to the link from the UT Main Page - XP SP1 released news item.

>If this is THE link for the SP for XP, then I think that MS has turned the XPerience of installing a SP into an exercise in frustration of the highest order!!!
>
>The entire thing is filled with links to links to links (to links to links....)!#@$!#@ In addition some of them are "circular", bringing me back to the page that I started on in my journey towards that link in the first place@!#@$!#@

>I can only guess that this whole MESS is really designed to "encourage" one to simply download and install. Put another way, it most certainly is designed to DISCOURAGE anyone from being thorough in research prior to installing the SP!!!
>
>I know what I'll do... I'll wait for other people to install it and see what they have to say about it AND I'll wait to see if someone with the patience actually does read all the linked stuff and finds hidden dangers (legal or technical) and reports them to us.

>What does MS think its doing????? This is NOT help, that's for sure!
>
>Those of you who do install SP1 for XP, please let us know how it went.
