As you may well remember from home, the exchange rates may vary widely and wildly. What we always did was to have three extra fields in the table: the currency, the rate, and the amount in the foreign currency. While the requirement may be that you keep the amounts in Canadian dollars only, it may be needed to recalculate the losses/gains or whatever anytime, and if you have only the current rate in a lookup tables, there's no way you can do that. My rule of thumb is "if it involves money, have a history".

You can show the foreign currency amount only, but internally I'd recommend that you save it all.
