I'm designing a form with a grid containing job assignements for a given period the source is a cursor from a select command in the form's load method. one column contains a combo box containing a list of the employees assigned to the job using as it's source a differnet cursor also from a select statment in the form's load method with a where clause to the jobid.

I can not seem to get the combo box to open it's list! When clicking on the combo box drop down button, I get a notice in the status bar that the control is read only... and when checking in the debuger it indeed is, but is not set that way anywhere I can find, in fact attempts to set it otherwise are not sucessfull.

I'm sure some of you have run across this, and I'm missing something simple but I've spent a couple of days on this with no luck... any advice please!
