What the preferred technology for reading/writing to Access 2002 tables? ODBC, ADO?

If I were to use ODBC, do I need an Access 2002 ODBC driver or will an earlier driver do? If I need the latest ODBC driver, can I just download it? From where?

Is there anything special about Access? Is it pretty much like using SQL Server from the standpoint of using views and building SQL Selects?
