I checked what I wrote to you last night. I must have been a bit tired. This morning I went back and checked my notes and this is what really happened.
The first time a modal form failed to fire up properly was a on call from a text box lost focus event of another form. I eventually fixed it by rebuilding the first form and the problem went away.
I then had 2 other occurences where I was clicking on a command button on form 1 to start form 2. Form 2 would appear in quick outline then disappear. In both cases I noticed that the focus at the time on form 1 was in a text box which had a lost focus event. I moved the focus to a blank text box with no code before clicking the command button and my problem went away.
