I am looking for a postgresql professional, who can take some tables in mysql/ convert them to postgresql(ok thats one comand line) but here is the fun part, write stored proceedrues and triggers which create ascii snapshots of the postgresql records whenever a record is updated.
Basically we use mysql/ postgresql, as the front for some web applicatons, /and vfp applications, and its been working fine, but now we need to collect data from these apps as well and send them back to our other server.(a u2 server/unidata) sort of pick database running on unix /aix.)
So what I was thinking was using stored proceedures in postgresql, and whenever a record was updated in postgresql, write out a new raw text file. the unidata application I have already has data imports funcitons which can read these ascii files and suck them in when they appear.
But to be honest, I am a little out of my experience with setting this sort of thing up. and wondering if someone out there could do this, (remotly is fine with me) and so on..
So the title of this message is Help Needed. ! Postgresql Pro telecommunite OK must know triggers and stored proceedures.
email me back if your are interesed

In the beginning, there was a command prompt, and all was well.
