>Wow, you mean I WASN'T the only ARev developer in thw world?

>You are absolutely right, I haven't used ANYTHING since that comes close to the power of Arev. The multivalue field alone is worth 10 of any other product. Other than the app I worked on, plus some I did for my own personal use, the only other time I've seen ARev in the field is an application for collection agencies. Unfortunately, somewhere along the line I lost my copy of the program (maybe when I switched to a computer with no more 5 1/4" floppy drive...), and just last week while cleaning up in the basement I tossed my copy of the User's Guide. Finding that in a box of other stuff inspired me to check out the web site - amazing to find the company still in business. I too totally lost touch when Open Insight appeared, by that time I was working on some heavy FoxPlus/Mac and Foxpro 1.x stuff.

Wow again, Randy!

You're the *only* ARev programmer I've encountered in ten years, with the occasional exception of a client or two whom I taught to program in RBasic!

I still have my copy of AREV 3.12 on 3.5" floppies, the manual, and a big folio book on "Programming in RBasic".

I agree with you about associated multi-value fields (AMV). It eliminates this parent-child table schema which makes things more complicated, unnecessarily so. The Pick Systems website has the D^3 Pick RDMS. Here is an explaination of the D3 (AMV) schema: http://www.rainingdata.com/products/dbms/d3/d3datamodel.html for anyone who may be curious.
Another aspect of ARev (PicK) that I liked is the Data Dictionary, which includes symbolic fields. VERY powerful. You can edit the Data Dictionary without having to lock the data table. (the http://www.picksys.com/index.html website points to the 'rainingdata' website). If I couldn't move to Linux I'd switch to D3 in a heartbeat if MS closes VFP down.
