Basically I have. Kylix3, as I mentioned, is an IDE for both Pascal (startdelphi) and C++ (startbcb). I downloaded the Open Edition to check out the C++ capabilities against the libc libraries. With the Open Edition one can generate all the GPL code they want without any propriatary connections. I don't expect Kylix3 to match KDevelop+QT3+PostgreSQL as a C++ GUI RAD tool, but I want to check it out.

Yup. The Mac OS X is a port of a BSD release which is code named Darwin. There is an Open Source version of Darwin which Apple affectionados can load onto their Macs. The Max OS X - Darwin relationship seems exactly like that of Sun StarOffice - OpenOffice. This morning I noticed an article in Linux Today that mentions an Apple dealer loading both Linux and OS X onto the Apples he's selling.
