I'll also assume that you have setup your DHCPD in MDK 8.2 correctly, because it is automatic... at least mine was.
You'll need to turn IPFORWARD on (=1) so W2K can see and be seen. To protect W2K from the WWW install either IPCHAINS or IPTABLES. IPTABLES is more recent. Both work great. Go to google and search for those three terms. You will be led to the HOWTO's.
