It's nothing less than having no connection to the network while you should.
So, VFP thinks it's there, but it doesn't get the answers.

In rare cases, the Error reading file occurs at cabling/hub/switch problems, causing VFP to receive the wrong answers.
So, at an open table, some Seek's repeatedly come up with the error, while other Seek's just give the answer.
But always it is about not having a (proper) connection.

In earlier days (older network clients), a Network error (Novell) would popup. This was just clear.
Nowadays it looks like guessing.
Anyway, it can't be a code propblem.
