I had the same thing when going to the Cirque Du Soliel web site. www.cirquedusoleil.com I applied the good old "I before E except after C" rule. Well, it isn't the case in French.

The best way I have found to stop the popup windows is to quickly hit ALT-F4 before the web page's unload code has time to initialize.
