Validation? I dunno.

I felt it justified to express my concerns re: MSFT marketing and .Net, that the hype/FUD was way out of line as compared with the technology. Nobody else was stating it and I felt my opinions were well grounded.

If .Net works for you, great! Frequently though, there's no compelling reason to move to a more expensive, proprietary and untested platform just because MSFT says so.
