A) The thread is concerned with Win2000 so now I know that it is not your case.
B) Some additional info - I have two cases of such error:
1) With WinNT - it dissapeared in magic way when customer upgrade server machine and OS (to Win2000)
2) With Novell (v5) - it dissapeared in magic way when client OS was downgraded to Win98 from WinMe. As I remember I found something in Novell KB that stated thet that problem is unknown nature. You may also look at the KB.
Maybe now there is more information.
Conclusion:
Try change/check what you can check/change Hardware (cable,NIC,hub,switch)and Software (server OS,client OS, use newest netware client software ).
Maybe there are some elements that you can easy change/check.
IMHO the reason is hardware rather. I wish you luck and successful hunting.
