>>I'm looking for sources of information on using VFP for developing 3-tier applications using VFP built COM components as the middle layer. Specifically, how do we pass data to & from the middle layer. The backend and frontend pieces shouldn't matter. Anyone have information on this or know where I can get it? Better yet, has anyone done it...I'd like to pick your brain if you have.

What we want to do is pretty ambitious. We are looking at going 3-tier, using VFP as the front and middle pieces. There will also be a different front-end piece on the web. SQL Server will be the backend piece. We want to use Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS) when it is supported in the next release of VFP. We also hope to use Microsoft Message Queue (MSMQ) to pass messages to other pieces...auto reporting tools, batch processing jobs, etc. I think Microsoft has done a great job of providing all these pieces, but a terrible job of explaining how to glue them all together.
