Well, a framework is a great investment IMHO. Codemine is definately worth a look - it is lean, fast and powerfull. Given that you are an experienced developer, Codemine will allow you to keep very much closer to the Fox than certain other frameworks might. Promatrix IMHO is perceived more as an AppGenerator than a framework (although it clearly sits atop a framework).
