Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm having trouble "playing around."

A little more background:
The memo field in question is a comment field for an inventory item. The comment may be omitted or long, as normal for a memo field. I have set it up as a single line on the report, with "stretch on overflow" checked. That works fine, but with the excessinve "leading."

I tried to manipulate the depth (thickness) of the single line for the memo field, but was not able to get pixel control. It would only go to a two line width when using the mouse. I could not get shift-downarrow to do anything. And the properties of a report object does not give you the full set of object properties as on a form/(screen).

Am I missing something?
