Thank you for the insights. I didn't mean to imply that my job security was at risk. I don't believe it is. There are plenty of other projects I could work on since I provide all the Help Desk, Network Administration, Etc. Also, I trust my boss and truly believe he is mostly concerned that I will leave for other employment.

I enjoy developing/maintaining with VFP and would hate to lose that aspect of my job. I do believe you are correct that the maintenance becomes more of an issue with a canned app. My boss is correct that since similar agencies(I didn't mention this earlier) are using this same canned app (and they are), He could probably enlist some help from one of them.

It really boils down to my belief that my application is the best fit for this office and my desire to continue VFP development.
