>It is clear that marginal communities must co-operate to survive.
Thats debateable.
>Selfishness is only compatible with survival once you are rich enough that co-operation is optional.
I disagree. So would anyone else who understands the selfish gene theory of evolution.
>I have no idea what you mean about your 2020 comment.
Exactly what I said. Not even now are our efforts to understand humanity through recorded worth anything. JMO.
>As for churches surviving etc: railing against things only works in a selfish society where people are taught to holler and the world will reshape itself to satisfy them. That's true in Burger King, but the church will still be there long after people finish hollering at it, mark my words.
I heard you the first time. And I agreed that churches will be around for a while. I also added that so will war, ignorance, and arrogance. The longevity of an established body says absolutely nothing about the worth of a good or service, simply the stability of the entity.
Church is a stable entity. "The word of God says: God created man, noone created God, do not question the word of God." Logical, no. Stable, unfortunatly, yes. Doesn't mean its a "Good thing".
