Yes, there is a high lag (latency) with a satellite connection - after all, that is a long way that signal has to travel. Such lag would make any data entry type work very annoying in a terminal server environment, where the user will be several to many (depending on their typing ability) characters ahead of the echo. While it will work, I think the end users would be more than a little annoyed at the response.
