When Mother Teresa came to visit the United States, she stated that we were “the most selfish people on the face of the earth”! I felt offended by that statement as I had been told by the media since I could read and understand that we were the most generous nation on the face of the earth. After doing some quick research I found out that other nations were much more generous than we are. I am speaking of us as a nation and not as individuals or groups within our nation. There are religious groups for example that do much to help others throughout the world. I have done my share as has each generation of my family that I have known.
